Avuncular DNA testing assesses whether an individual is the Aunt or Uncle of another person. This type of case if often used to confirm indirectly the biological relationship between an alleged father and their child. By testing the brother or sister of the alleged father it is possible to understand if there is a biological relationship with the nephew or niece, hence indirectly suggesting the paternity of the alleged father.
